As a Regional Delegate from Brantford Ontario I arrived in Toronto at 1:40pm,
At 6:30 pm we entered into the ‘ballroom name* at the Airport Holiday Inn in Toronto to attend the Opening Ceremonies of the 2016 Search for Miss Teenage Canada. I was feeling exited, nervous and forunete to be able to get this opportunity.
The party was incrediable, I never met such lovely people becuase they were all supporting us through our Miss Teenage Canada journey. They were generous and I am thankful for their sponserships because we would not be able to half the things we did these past 3 days without their caring hearts. I loved every single product we tried it and were able to give our honest opinion which, I thought everything was phenomonal.
There was a good selection of high quality Oral B traveler’s toothbrushes specially monogrammed from Archer Dental because they care about our oral hygiene when we’re away from home competing for a crown. It is amazing on teeth and highly recommended because you want your smile to be the best it can be. Having yellow teeth is not so pretty on stage but, dental hygiene is important for all ages because you only get one pair of teeth for your whole life. You want to take care of them best you can and Archer Dental is highly recommended because they are amazing!
Nuvango created a shareable moment center by offering up some designer clothes and a full length mirror for all of us. They gave us a wonderful option of a piece of clothing we could have, I choose a t-shirt and I absolutley love the patterns. Later in the week our ensemble will be making a visit to the Nuvango headquarters on Tuesday July 19 which was a new experiance. I loved it because I got to see the fashion designers design their dream outfits also being able to express themselfs. Their clothes are absolutley wonderful and I love the quality, feeling and fitting. When I get home I am ordering clothes because they are just fantastic. They are also vegan free and they are all made in Canada in a building in Toronto by amazing, kind and loving staff.
There were free designer sunglasses from V.P.I. Canada, one pair for each regional delegate.
I found my pair of
for sale online for $54.99 plus shipping and handling. I loved my sunglasses and will be using them daily in the summer, they are a perfect fit! My sunglasses have the blue and purple lense which is amazing because the lense is different then any kind. The staff was wonderful and they even took pictures of us because they cared if we liked them and how they look. I find these glasses absolutley stunning and am so thankful for such an amazing company to be sponsering us. I would just like to say Thank you to VPI Canada – I’ll make you proud and support you like you did for all of us and our journey.
Anyone can find the round frame vintage style sunglasses at VPI Canada sunglasses e-store, and there are over eight styles to choose from … these fit my face perfectly.
Here’s a pic of me wearing my shades!
Rimmel London provided a surplus of products for the girls’ welcome bags. They set up a make-up station with lots of extras. A lot of fun happened here throughout the evening. Find the team on Instagram & Twitter: @rimmelllondoncan, and on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/RimmelLondonCanada
They are an amazing company with beautiful makeup I wear daily and wanted to say thank you so much Rimmel London!
Hashtagio is a Social Media Aggregator and User Generated Marketing Platform that was at the show collecting all our social media tagged with the #MissTeenageCanada2016 and then projecting it live at the party. Even better, they make a single feed URL to which our parents and friends can subscribe to follow along in real time as we experience all the different activities here in Toronto. And the mass of spontaneously issued images and text from all 65 delegates will be archived on this page in the Miss Teenage Canada main site and on the Miss Teen Canada Blog Network / Search for Miss Teenage Canada 2016. Thank you so much for making it easier on us and helping us out through our social media by creating and starting new tags for the amazing sponsers getting recognized for the stuff they did to support Miss Teenage Canada 2016!
Sam Dhutia from Sweets Canada was at the party doing chocolate tastings. Sam made a very informative and delicious chocolate tasting exhibit – after each sampling he generously gave out gourmet chocolate bars , and or edible flower chocolate bars, depending on each delegate’s individual preferences, as discovered during the tastings.
I loved the man who was handing out candy because I got to try their sweet and delicous candy. I have not been able to eat the bar he gave me but, I am very exited too because I already tried it. Great chocolate and nice people wanting us to love the sweets which we all did.

Sally Hansen provided products for gift bags and dispensed products (describe in detail) at a make-up station at the welcome party.

BRADLEE RYALL GOLF ACADEMY
Another fun exhibit at the Opening Night Sponsors’ Party was from Bradlee Ryall Golf Academy which teaches golf lessons at six golf courses west of Toronto.
On Weds July 20th we’re all going to the golf academy to play a one-hole golf game for two ladies golf jackets (which are prizes from SWING active wear) at the end of our group lessons on two different courses. Here at the party there was a live mini golf attraction set up for us to practice our putting. I am so exited but, they lets us do a golfing thing which was so fun and cannot wait to go play. I am really bad at golf but actually very exited!
At the party there was a bow and arrow (with a giant marshmallow on the pointy end) and we all took turns trying to hit a paper target that was setup in the ballroom. We’ll ALL be playing Archery Tag in Toronto at Archers Arena on Thursday July 21st 2016. On that night, look for the hashtag #archerytag. It was such an amazing fun night and the archery was cute for pictures with the girls. I absolutley love it and waiting to see the sweet staff again!
BATA SHOE MUSEUM
We’ll be visiting the Bata Shoe Museum on Tuesday, July 19 at 11:30 a.m which was a interesting visit. They had all kinds of interesting thing and never thought I would have been so amazing like it was. I loved every second of it! Great experience and recommended you taking a peek in this wonderful museum.
@batashoemuseum and they collect images marked #batashoemuseum

Storia PR Inc.
Delegates are especially advised to seek out and introduce themselves to Daphna and Karen Nussbaum from Storia PR in Toronto. These ladies are part of the 2016 Search for Miss Teenage Canada experience and will be retweeting and amplifying much of the media we make, everywhere we go.
One of my favourite places to visit on my spare time is Niagara Falls because I love the main streets with all the games and the amazing boat through the falls called “made of the mist.” It is very beautiful site and you see tourists all the time. The best feeling is seeing their eyes light up when they finally reach the falls. The rim of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls measures about 792 m (2200 ft) which is bigger then the American Falls measure about 323 m (850 ft). This is an amazing place that is highly recommended because it is one of the Top 10 places to go all over the world. I love spending my days there and cherishing memories with my family. My grandma and I have the most funniest moments about my grandpa so, every time we go we talk about all the moments we had and laugh all day! These falls are demonstrated during the night beautifully with lights, which is even more intriguing. One of the most interesting things about the falls are it has a Canadian and an American side but, is known to be an estimated age of 12,000. The falls are family friendly and great for pictures plus, has a great experience called “maid of the mist” because you go down into the falls with a boat and get more opportunities to learn about it from the tour guides which is great for young children. Its an experience of a life time, I have done it once before with my mom and was absolutely stunned. They also have a ferris wheel on the main street to view the falls with a different perspective, which I am planning on doing it with my grandma this summer! I highly encourage you take your time to come out and see these amazing falls, it is a journey of lifetime .
The falls have a special connection to me because when I was younger my grandpa use to take me their and say “if you fall I will be there.” He meant everything to me and that saying is so important because he said no matter how bad you may mess up in your life I will always be their for you. Unfortunately he had passed away on April 28th 2016 due to old age and throat cancer but the falls are somewhere we remember him.
This is my Miss Teenage Canada banner! I choose this because I went into this pageant to learn and grow stronger. Like this flower we are all growing and trying new things as we go. Sometimes certain things will be the past and leave us behind as the petals fall off. Our life is short and sweet so, as we go we grow we become stronger, wiser and more beautiful but, eventually the life we lived will be remembered by the petals we left behind. This is our journey and it is only the beginning.
When I grow up, I would like to be a successful lawyer and be focused. I am interested in law because I love history and trying to figure things out mentally. I wrote an essay to my school to get into the Law SHSM program which I have been told I got in which I am very proud of.
I would also like to try to get into modelling or even experience running for Miss Canada. I love that I am Miss Teenage Brantford and I really would like to make an impact on peoples daily lives. If I could change the world their would be no one starving people and everyone would live in a good structured home. I am impacting that as Miss Teenage Brant County because I am starting a food drive soon to donate to the homeless and School Breakfast Program which we have donated over $100,000 to before when my parents owned a carnival.
I can remember feeling really low of myself and trying to hide from everyone because I was scared what they would think of me. But, when you really think about it what is wrong with being you. Your a wonderful individual that was made for a reason. Everyone has a purpose in this world but don’t hide from yours. If you love your self who cares what other people think. I truly believe loving your self and excepting you for you is one of the most important things you can do. Don’t hide, be happy for who you are. If you love something and someone else hates it, thats okay we all have different opinions. Be YOU and don’t let anyone make you feel like you have to hide because you don’t.
Stop and think for a second … Do you ever have a certain picture in your mind of what you want to be…
I have a plan laid out and I would love to share it …
My plan A is to be a model for a agency that I am proud of. I am involved in my community and helping others that need it more than I do. I have always watched Victoria Secret Models and have been amazed by them, unfortunately am 5’3 but will hopefully be auditioning when I turn 18 years old. It is always worth a shot. I have always loved being in front of the camera it is where I am most comfortable. I secretly love it more than Dance. I love smiling and having beautiful pictures come out. One day I want to be on the cover of a magazine. But, it relates to Miss Teenage Canada because this pagent will be added to my portfolio along with my photoshoot.
My plan B is to be a lawyer because I love law and am getting into my Grade 11 Law SHSM program at my school which I cannot wait for. It is something that intrigues me. I am passionate about fighting for a case I believe in. Something I am good at is proving my point when I am right and I know all the facts. Lawyer I believe I would still study even if I was a model I would want a second job to back me up.
Dance has not always been their for me I took a pretty rough road which had lead me to it. I had started gymnastics when I was about 3 years old. Where I met my best friends Mariah and Alissa which till this day has never changed. I had done it until I was 8 years old then went back to it when I was 10 then finally had quit. My mom as a single mom just could not afford it no more. Then we decided to look into cheerleading which I tried it and just did not like the feeling of it. It wasn’t what I had felt when I tumbled. For a couple years I completely stopped any physical activity except soccer.
Grade 8 started it was very rough for me. I had gone through depression, and anxiety about moving on to high school. Everyday I would usually have a melt down as the days got closer. I knew graduation meant I was loosing all the friends I grew up with. We were all separating to different high schools. Graduation for grade 8 I don’t think I really stopped crying.
Grade 9 hit and it was even worse I was sometimes really lonley. My grandfather had lost his long 7 year battle of cancer on April 28th which threw me off. I was in a bad state. He was the only father figure to me and he was gone. But then I had found Carols Kitchen Dance Studio which was wonderful. I felt like I finally fit in and I could start over. No one knew what was going on so, I did not have to be sad with people always talking about it. It felt like home. All of those hurt emotions I was feeling I put it into dance which became passion. It was were I could let loose and be me.
Grade 10 I met the best people in my life which is my best friend Gabby which has brought me up even higher. She is wonderful person who supports me with everything. But, she even helps me with stretching, I am happier then I could ever be but, I don’t think I would have got far if I did not have Dance in my life. Also find the amazing friends throughout my journey.
I babysit this lovely girl and boy every Tuesday and Friday since September. They are wonderful children and I love them to death. They keep my happy and always smiling. I could not believe the support I got from these two young children and their family for entering Miss Teenage Canada. I am so happy to be working for them and cannot wait for more memories to come.
I also work at McDonalds as a cashier or counter. This job is one of my favourite’s to and love the people I work with. They are working hard people who want to succeed and make money. I would love to go to Florida this summer to visit my wonderful Aunt Patti but it takes hard work and dedication. I work every weekend and usually during the week after school and are always welcome to come and visit. Making money and having good work ethics is something I strive for. It is not always being beautiful because it takes hard work to get their.
I believe I work very hard to earn things because I don’t think things should be just given to you. You have to earn them.
Provincials is a weekend only 2 days. You have an option to stay at the hotel or go home for the night because you may live close by. We were at Toronto hotel for the 2 days but I had gone home for the night because we were only a 30 minute drive. The first day 10:00 am we arrived I remember being nervous about the girls and what it was like but, luckily I had one of my good friends Lacy Madia with me. I believed almost everyone had a little bit of nerves that day because no one really knew what to expect. We all sat in the room in chairs. Just us girls had went around the room and introduced our selfs. One tip don’t be shy or get to overwhelmed. At 10:45am the choreographers came in to teach us what we needed to know in about 2 days. We learned sitting and walking techniques. Also our choreography which we had to learn in about a day. Just to let you know Day 2 evening your performing and they are choosing Miss Teenage Ontario and top 15. Its very important you give it your all, the moment you walk in. We had snacks at 5:00pm ish then did some more choreography. Finally we had our bikini’s to walk out in and interviews to be judged on that night. We had 5 judges that judged us that night and also on Day 2 the last day. Everything counts their is a certain percentage everything your being judged on that effects your overall score. You have your interview at the end of Day 1 night but they had mentioned the certain questions you may be asked. Do not stress to much, their is always next year. You have to confident in your self and love you for you. Also comparing yourself to others does not help at ALL.
Day 2 was really stressful. You had to remember all the choreography they taught you the day before. Another tip no matter how tired you are when you are at home or at the hotel please go over the choreography it will help. That day was our last day. Also we saw the ladies from last year who had our titles. I knew one of the girls there which attends my high school. For about 30 minutes we got to chat with them about the night about to happen and about Nationals. Then we were performing and doing dress rehearsals. It was hair and makeup time which I absolutely loved. When you were done hair and makeup you could go eat some pizza. Which was absolutely delicious. Then the show began, the intro and your evening gown you were getting judged on that night. Which mine was a last minute pick. We were all put into lines and called up by our names for Top 15 then last Miss Teenage Ontario. After that the girls who did not make Top 15 had to go off and grab their stuff. Which was upsetting because I wanted all of us to go through I loved them all to pieces. We waited after the show to explain everything that is now going on for Nationals. Then we packed up and left back to home or hotel. But, it just does not wait till July. I am constantly doing things and creating ideas each day for nationals. It was a beautiful night and I will never forget it.
